Deeply involved with the recovery journey of our target beneficiaries – the mature aged (55years and above) female ex-drug offenders.
We provide sustainable employment and strong social support for them; empowering them on their road of recovery, helping them to overcome spousal, children and other social issues.
We also do home visits if they have issues at home and will facilitate counselling sessions with school counsellors if their children face issues in school. We will bridge them to social agencies like Family Service Centres and Social Service Offices for further assistance if needed.
We are determined to journey with our beneficiaries in helping them handle their social issues so that they can sustain their employment and stay away from drugs.
Championing our social cause is our co-founder, Ms Talia Lee (photo left). Talia started as a Case Worker cum Beauty Therapist Trainer in 2009 in Immanuel Beauty School (an SE). Started her own SE in 2010 (Emmaus Training Center) which ceased operation in 2015 due to a change in the government funding policy. She was a committee board member of The Turning Point in 2014 and was employed as a Social Work Associate by The Turning Point on 1 September 2015 after Emmaus Training Center ceased operations. In a short span of around 3 years, Talia was promoted to Executive Director of The Turning Point in Jan 2019. She is social work-trained after attaining Diploma in Social Service in August 2019. Identifying the gap of the support and help for our beneficiary group, she together with Qara Yoon (photo right), founded Yoon’s Traditional Teochew Kueh.
